According to the Ancient Greeks, there are 8 types of love:

- Eros — romantic love
- Philia — affectionate or plutonic love
- Philautia — self love
- Storge — familiar or kinship love
- Pragma — enduring, everlasting love
- Ludus — infatuation or playful love
- Mania — obsessive love
Even though Valentines and anniversaries are commonly of Eros, Storge and Pragma love, our friendships, our "chosen" families, kinships and weirdos are equally as important as forms of the Philia type of love. (Or even Eros for those relationship goals.)
